Financial Accountant

InterQuest are proudly supporting a progressive and growing challenger bank who are looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Birmingham. Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and supporting records.
- Own and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead and manage both internal and external audits, including project planning, scheduling, communication, and evidence gathering.
- Uphold strict compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Prepare corporate statutory accounts on time, liaising effectively with auditors.
- Develop and implement robust accounting policies and processes for a growing bank.
- Prepare tax disclosures and collaborate with external advisors to submit tax returns and R&D claims.
- Maintain and strengthen compliance controls.
- Perform monthly reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail.
- Prepare technical accounting papers for internal use.
- Support the integration of new products and systems into financial reporting processes.

Previous Experience
- Strong accounting qualifications (e.g., CA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Proven experience in financial reporting and controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience leading audits and managing projects.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems.
