I am looking for an experienced Head of Compliance to join a dynamic, regulated financial services organisation. This senior leadership role offers the chance to shape and drive the compliance agenda at both a strategic and operational level.
As Head of Compliance, you’ll take ownership of the Compliance Framework and related policies, providing expert guidance to the Board and Executive Committee. You’ll act as the key liaison with regulators, foster a culture of accountability and ethical conduct, and ensure compliance is embedded across all levels of the business.
In addition to overseeing regulatory compliance, this role carries responsibility for data protection as the organisation’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) and SMF 16 function holder under the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR).
Key Responsibilities:
Hold the SMF 16 (Compliance Oversight) function
Serve as the primary point of contact for the FCA, ICO, and other regulatory bodies
Ensure ongoing compliance with Consumer Duty and broader FCA requirements
Deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote a strong compliance culture
Develop and implement a robust Compliance Assurance Plan
Oversee GDPR compliance and lead on data protection training and policies
Conduct horizon scanning to identify regulatory developments and ensure organisational readiness
Provide compliance advisory support across all business functions
Conduct thematic reviews and gap analysis on key regulations (e.g. GDPR, Consumer Duty)
Represent Compliance in cross-functional projects and initiatives
About You:
Strong background in compliance roles within financial services, ideally insurance
Strong working knowledge of FCA regulations including SYSC, ICOBS, PROD, SM&CR, and Consumer Duty
