Join us as we how to improve your employee value proposition in 2020. We are joined by two guest speakers; Amy Sawbridge - Advisor on Employee Experience, EVP / Employer Brand & Global People Strategy and Sharron Pomells - Senior HR Leader, Experienced People Director, Chartered MICPD, Expert HR & D&I Consultant.
After ten years as part of the Virgin Group, Amy works in a freelance capacity with companies to help them define what their brand stands for as an employer and embed that through their employee experience. She’s passionate about the need to create consistent and authentic experiences, bridging the gap that often exists between the People function and Brand & Marketing.
Throughout her career, Amy has worked with iconic brands, across sectors ranging from technology, aviation, fashion, healthcare, telecoms, financial services and non-profit. Whilst at Virgin, she led the Employee Experience function as part of the Global Brand team and worked with the People teams in all the Virgin companies across the globe. She was responsible for developing Virgin’s point of view on all things People and Culture. This encompassed all aspects of the employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, culture, engagement, diversity and inclusion, and employee communications.
Since becoming freelance, she’s had the great privilege to work with other organisations on opportunities such as: developing their ‘People Promise’; implementing a new employer brand function; creating a ten-year business vision; developing diversity & inclusion strategies that are integrated into the employee experience; as well as mentoring a team to set an ambitious People Strategy.
She’s naturally curious and highly collaborative and loves navigating complex organisations and stakeholder requirements to develop creative, business-relevant solutions. As a practitioner, she brings an appreciation of the in-house dynamics, corporate considerations and realities of implementation that’s often missing from agencies.
Having worked in a variety of senior HR roles with some of the most envied brands, Sharron has over 20 years of multi-sector experience in all aspects of HR.
She is known for her creativity in designing and implementing award-winning HR initiatives and spent 7 years as HR Director with Virgin Management, the home of the brand and private equity hub of the Virgin group of companies. Sharron celebrated internal and external successes for creating and embedding pioneering internal consumer products such as unlimited leave, super flexible working, genderless parental leave, Health & Wellbeing to name a few.
Prior to that Sharron spent a number of years with Travelex as they expanded within EMEA, and set up and led the HR function for the Royal House of Dubai. She lives and breathes organisational equality, and has embedded inclusion and cultural understanding seamlessly and commercially, in many of her roles.
Since 2019 she has returned to her early professional services roots (Deloitte, PWC, Thomson Financial) to provide HR consulting services through her company AsheBel. She has already made her mark with a number of start-ups and scale-up organisations, leading HR teams and using her experience and passion to set businesses and people up for the success they truly deserve.
Sharron has successfully coached many people, managers and executives all over the world. Regardless of the challenge they are facing, she uses a happiness and wellbeing approach with a commercial spin, to help people get out of their own way, and coach them to a place of professional success and personal fulfilment.
