This is a unique opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join one of Manchester's best-known ecommerce scale-ups.

The company have the backing of a FTSE 250 business and launched to the public late 2020 with a full UK wide TV advertising campaign.

As an Engineering Manager, you'd become part of the leadership team and would be responsible for looking after people, not technology.

You'd work alongside other Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Product Owners and Delivery Managers to provide a rewarding working environment for your software engineers, ensuring they maintain a sustainable work/life balance and have a psychologically safe environment in which to innovate and grow.

The existing group are very open minded, they work as multidisciplinary product engineering squads (Dev, Product, UX) who value diversity and teamwork over individual heroics, so you'd be working alongside people that are passionate about using quality practices like TDD and Pair Programming in an autonomous DevOps culture.

This is a hands-off role, but the teams work with the following tech:

  • AWS (EC2, Lambdas etc.)
  • TypeScript, Node, React
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform

The money is good too - up to £90,000 plus benefits including 20% bonus, 5% pension, private medical, paid AWS certifications and regular flexible/remote working.
