InterQuest are currently supporting a retail bank in finding a senior financial crime professional to directly support the MLRO. This is a great opportunity for someone with broad financial crime knowledge to join a growing business where you will be responsible for oversight of their financial crime framework and systems.

This second line position would allow you to support in the delivery of bank-wide financial crime risk assessment, carrying out horizon scanning in order to advise the business on how to best mitigate risk. The bank is looking for someone with broad experience who is technically strong as a large part of this role will cover financial crime systems such as maintenance of transaction monitoring and customer screening systems. You would further be expected to engage with senior stakeholders, working across the business to make sure adequate controls are in place and communicating regulatory developments relating to financial crime. Additional responsibilities include providing management information and acting as point of contact in the absence of the MLRO.

Candidates should have:

* Strong experience in a second line of defence financial crime role.
* Broad knowledge including AML, counter terrorist financing, anti-bribery and fraud.
* Technical experience covering financial crime system oversight.
* Regulatory knowledge - MLR, FATF and JMLSG.
* Experience working in an FCA regulated environment, preferably banking.
* Stakeholder management skills to effectively communicate across the business.
