Our client are embarking on a large scale Transformation which will be crucial in changing the way we communicate and work with our customers effectively. The successful candidate will own and take full accountability for the effective scoping, design and implementation of the programmes and their subsequent projects/releases. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and driven Portfolio Planning Manager who is looking to play a key part in shaping a large team for many years to come.

Key Accountabilities :

You will be responsible for planning and prioritisation of the portfolio with clear scoping and definition and measurable criteria with objectives for each. This will include Delivery of the portfolio projects to time, cost and quality targets to achieve the agreed goals of the project or release. Owning the day to day relationship with key stakeholders, the delivery team and IT stakeholders, ensuring buy-in, commitment to deliver and proactive resolution of issues

On a day to day basis the role will involve:

* Monitoring the portfolio, programme of work and projects in accordance with the IT Delivery Framework and governance processes.
* Build, manage and motivate the team with an organisational structure that ensures clarity of role, management accountability, succession planning and staffing levels to drive successful delivery whilst remaining cost effective.
* Manage third party suppliers and external services providers who are delivering products and services to the Digital portfolio, programme of work, and projects, including ensuring that required supplier contracts are in place.
* Identify resource and skill sets required to achieve the Digital portfolio, programme of work, and projects goals and work with resource managers to ensure the allocation and engagement of those resource.

Our Ideal Candidate:

The right candidate for this role will have had experience within banking sector. The candidate will have a very strong Portfolio planning & delivery experience and proven experience delivering projects.

Any formal project management qualification such as Scrum, Prince2, MSP, PMP, Six sigma will give you a distinct advantage but not essential.

We will only consider candidates who have 5-10 years+ experience working within the banking sector.
