Job Title: Market Risk Manager (VP) - Foreign Exchange (FX) Precious Metals
Location: London
An opportunity has become available for a Market Risk Manager (VP) with strong knowledge and experience of Precious Metals to join the Market Risk and Valuations team of a leading and global investment bank. This team provide a comprehensive view of market risks to Senior Management and ensure that Business units optimise the risk-reward relationship and do not expose the bank to unacceptable losses.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the Global FX Precious Metals business, and support the Global Head of Global FX Market Risk as required
* Daily monitoring of risk, stress loss, and Value-at-Risk (VaR) exposures against limits and risk appetite, while remaining constantly aware of current market dynamics
* Ensure risk completeness and accuracy, ensuring the limit framework and appetite is commensurate with infrastructure, and developing Risks not in VaR and stress mitigants if required
* Discuss and challenge the Front Office with respect to exposures, new business and market activity
* Ensuring internal and external governance policies are being effectively applied
Required skills & experience
* Exposure to Derivatives and Physical Commodities trading, ideally obtained within Precious Metals or similar, and with a strong desire to further your career in this direction. Knowledge of commonly traded flow products including rationales, flows and risks (including structural, non-linear, cross, model etc.)
* Ability to quickly develop credible working relationships with fellow Market Risk Managers, Traders, Senior Risk Managers, and colleagues across the organisation
* Strong experience in markets-related roles with an emphasis on market risk management, with commensurate knowledge of market risk controls and governance frameworks
* Strong technical and analysis skills (Python, Excel, Statistics etc.), with strong attention to detail and process-orientation
* Educated to Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience, degree or higher in Math's, Physics, Engineering or Quantitative Finance would be beneficial
