Full-Stack Lead Java Developer - FinTech - £80k - Surrey

Our client is a global FinTech company based in Surrey. They are investing heavily in their technology team and have several greenfield projects kicking off throughout the year; as such, they are growing their java team. We are looking for at least one full-stack java developer and one lead full-stack java developer to join.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone interested to learn about financial trading, as no prior trading or finance experience is needed! You will also get the chance to be directly involved in a dynamic environment with lots of work lined up and new product launches scheduled. This is a small company so you will get great visibility within the business and will able to actively shape the direction of the team.

For the lead position, it's a 50/50 split between hands-on development and line managing a small team of developers. We are looking for a java architect SME, someone who can coach and advise other members of the team and take a lead on technical design.

Whilst no finance experience is needed, candidates should have experience working on B2B platforms, working in a bespoke software house, or have experience building bespoke solutions as part of a large in-house IT team for a global company.

Essential Skills:

* Strong Java development skills
* Spring Framework
* Good TDD practices, experience with JUnit and UI testing
* Experience with Front-End development, JavaScript, HTML, CSS etc
* Strong Agile Experience and knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence

Desirable Technologies:

* Angular
* Bootstrap
* Apache Camel
* Active MQ
* Tomcat
* Oracle

Candidates are currently working remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions however will be expected to work in the office 2-3 days per week in our client's lovely office in Surrey once restrictions are lifted. There is an office car park to make it easy to drive in to work!
