The Head of IT role is to align technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies. The Head of IT is also responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing technology initiatives within the organization. This individual will maintain existing ERP enterprise systems, while providing direction in all technology-related issues in support of information operations and core company values.
Strong leadership is obviously vital as is an excellent commercial background. You will provide leadership to identify, analyze & communicate business process needs and potential information technology solutions. This role is for someone who can understand their business sector and has a massive desire to achieve. You will demonstrate strong influencing skills and is an ambassador for positive change.
The role holder will lead the IT Systems/ Infrastructure function and have responsibility for the provision of the clients IT service to both internal stakeholders and our external partners. The role holder will be responsible for all Support and Development, Change & Release Management, Monitoring, Cyber Security Risks (including Disaster recovery plans etc.), Logistics and Asset Management. The Head of IT will direct the day-to-day IT operations to deliver and support an efficient and resilient IT environment, fully integrated and secured in line with OF standards and policies and partnership service level agreements.
You will be required to strategise how to integrate infrastructure services into the business change and demonstrate a proven track record of not only building solutions that are fit for purpose and influence these solutions to drive optimum business value. You will be responsible for aligning the IT Strategy with business objectives, implementing and managing the IT Strategic initiatives and deliver world-class service to business constituents and external customers.
The crux of the role is to ensure that there is a clear understanding of business requirements and priorities ensuring appropriate IT solutions are identified & delivered in an expedient manner. You will define and own the IT Mission, formulate and deploy short, medium and long-term strategic IT Plans that align the IT business model with business needs of the organisation.
This newly created role is to lead the professional IT Function, in development and implementation of the IT Strategy, Manufacturing Systems, Architecture, Finance systems, services, capabilities, procedures and processes and organization development, in support of the client's mission and values.
In terms of experience this role requires someone who has managed a large IT department, designing and implementing solutions, business software applications and engineering innovative improvements to current technology change programmes. You will take responsibility to maintain global business process and IT knowledge necessary to anticipate IT solutions for emerging business opportunity in all supported area.
A pre-requisite is the ability to communicate & present effectively to executive stakeholders. You'll be a strong influencer, able to get buy in from stakeholders & subordinates alike. You'll have demonstrable experience of Change Management, Transformation & Project Management, ideally with Prince 2, MSP & ITIL, (foundation or practitioner certified) & expertise in retail or manufacturing organisation, delivering IT and industry best practice in process, controls, tools, standards and methods within IT / Operations Directorship.
