I am currently working with UK based Life Assurance company, who after an internal restructure are looking for a Head of IT to join their expanding team and help with the day to day running of the Applications, Developers and IT Support functions.

On a day to day basis, you will be:

* Developing strategies and plans for ensuring efficient and cost effective information and communication technologies and delivery teams are in place to deliver the Companies' objectives
* Managing the Information Systems & Office functions (collectively, IT Development, Service and Support)
* Managing IT policies, procedures, standards and methodologies including cyber and information security. Identifying and managing the cyber security risks to the firms
* Providing regular Management Information on the performance of the IT function, measured against agreed service standards and project portfolio commitments
* Proposing expense budgets for IT Departments to CEO and monitoring ongoing expenditure against budget

They are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including Board level and across the wider Group, and to motivate a team of technical employees to deliver according to agreed plans and timescales
* Senior level IT management experience in a life assurance company
* 5 years direct experience in software development and supervision
* 5 years direct work experience in an IT management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution, project and delivery management
* Experience in code control and environment management
* Experience of working in a distributed development environment with Cobol, C#, SQL, MQ, JCL
