Head of Finance - Part-time

I am delighted to be recruiting on behalf of one of our key financial services clients for a Head of Finance on a part-time basis (3 or 4 full days). You will be reporting directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, fostering a culture of performance and engagement.
  • Manage all financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UKGAAP (FRS 102).
  • Oversee smooth annual audit processes.
  • Set and monitor financial targets aligned with strategic plans.
  • Develop budgets and provide insightful management information.
  • Act as a business partner, evaluating departmental performance against budget.
  • Present results to senior management and prepare quarterly board packs.
  • Assist in financial decisions, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Ensure a robust controls environment and implement operational best practices.
  • Manage banking covenant, compliance, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the CFO on various financial matters.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Solid understanding of UK Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Experience in financial management, planning, and forecasting.
  • Strong commercial experience, preferably in Financial Services or Technology.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong data manipulation capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage high-performance teams and lead change.
  • Experience in maintaining and utilizing accounting software (e.g., Sage or Xero).
