Enterprise Network Security Manager
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced a IT technical Network Manager to become an integral key stakeholder & decision maker in the continual development of the network services.
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, you will lead a team of up to ten network & voice services technicians supporting Business As Usual (BAU) and network-related projects across the council.
Key Responsibilities:
- The direct management & continual personal development of up to ten technical team members.
- Leading this team as a technical expert, you will be accountable for service availability, upkeep & support of all aspects of the council's network, meeting SLAs & industry recognised standards.
- Indirectly reporting to the council's Security Compliance Manager, you will maintain network information security standards aligned to ISO270001, Cyber Essentials Plus & industry best practices as they develop.
- Maintaining service availability, resilience & business continuity, you will both manage and be an integral part of site attendance schedules & regular 'callout' rotas.
- As a key stakeholder and influencer, you will be actively involved in associated project initiatives and strategic plans, ensuring network technologies, capacities & resilience continually meet existing and future council requirements.
Required Experience:
- Expert in the management, monitoring, configuration and 'hands on' troubleshooting of enterprise LANs, WANs, WLANs and VPNs
- Expert experience in the support of Cisco, Meraki (WiFi) products & firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Checkpoint and ASA) at CCNP & PCNSE levels or equivalents.
Other Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in general IT support and service management.
- Knowledge of IT network-supported infrastructure & applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of IT security standards and protocols.
- Excellent communication, presentation, report writing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team with diverse skillsets & priorities.
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and SD WAN
- Ability to work & adapt in a fast-moving environment.
