Credit Underwriter

InterQuest are delighted to be working with one of the world's largest online retailers to help support with the recruitment of a Senior Credit Underwriter. Their office is based in Bradford, and they operate a hybrid working schedule (2 days in the office, 3 days WFH).

Role Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new business applications and credit limit increase requests, delivering timely decisions within SLA and in accordance with Credit Risk Policy.
• Review historic credit decisions based on irresponsible lending complaints from customers and provide summaries and recommendations to the complaints team.
• Clearly articulate and document the rationale for all decisions made.
• Ensure that all customers receive the same high level of service & communications are clear.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years in experience of underwriting Consumer Credit
• Good knowledge of the consumer credit industry and of the consumer credit customer life cycle.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements and of the FCA Handbook.
• Ability to use multiple sources of information to make informed, judgemental decisions.
• Very Good oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient IT skills and competent in Microsoft Office
