Our client is a leading Financial Services organization with offices in Brighton, Peterborough, and Newbury. They are currently seeking an Infrastructure Manager to lead and align the technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with the appropriate technologies.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Solid background in IT infrastructure, with a comprehensive understanding of the architecture and design of on-premises and cloud-provisioned data centers and services, resilience strategies including load balancing, backups, security, and disaster recovery, as well as a good working knowledge of network topology and infrastructure.
  • Qualifications in ITIL principles and proven knowledge of Agile delivery methods.
  • A track record of successful IT infrastructure project delivery.
  • An understanding of the commercial environment in which operates.
  • Excellent communication skills, coupled with demonstrable capability in engaging and influencing leadership within an organization, using their extensive knowledge and experience.
  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure projects and implementations.
  • A proactive approach with effective organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking and business acumen.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

As the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of developing and implementing Infrastructure technology initiatives within the organization. This role involves setting the mission, vision, and strategy of the Technology team, ensuring they are integrated with the overarching organization strategy.

You will take a hands-on approach to delivery and drive the exploration of new technologies to ensure that the information technology and network infrastructure, business applications, personal computing, and communications meet the needs of the organization. Strong leadership and a solid commercial background are essential.

Your role will provide leadership to identify, analyze, and communicate business process needs and potential information technology solutions. You will quickly understand the business sector and have a strong desire to help the organization achieve its business strategy, while demonstrating strong influencing skills and acting as an ambassador for positive change.

In terms of experience, this role requires someone who has worked in an Enterprise-level environment, with a deep technical understanding of platform solutions gained through the delivery of solutions in this space. You will take responsibility to maintain UK business process and IT knowledge necessary to anticipate IT solutions for emerging Technology in all supported areas.

Candidates should have a solid background working with large-scale Infrastructure, with a deep technical understanding of platform solutions gained through the delivery of solutions in this space. It is important that you have managed Cloud, Storage, Platform, Integration, and Networking teams as this role requires positive leadership of these teams to gain employee engagement and motivation to help guide and empower the teams through technology change. Financial Services experience will give you a distinct advantage but is not essential.

A pre-requisite for this role is the ability to communicate and present effectively to executive stakeholders. You should be a strong influencer, capable of gaining buy-in from stakeholders and subordinates alike. Demonstrable experience of Change Management, Agile, Transformation, and Project Management, MSP or PMP (ideally), Prince 2 and ITIL (foundation or practitioner certified), and expertise in managing mission-critical Infrastructure and industry best practices in process, controls, tools, standards, and methods within IT Infrastructure/Operations Manager with a solid understanding/background in Information Security.
