CI Improvement Lead - £450 - £550 a day - London/ Hybrid Working

Key Accountabilities
Accountability
• Lead the establishment of continuous improvement (CI) strategies, principles, practices and standards across the organisation
• Lead relationship management with business owners to ensure effective engagement with CI plans, from obtaining buy-in to proactive reviews of operational performance, risks and opportunities, and benefit management
• Ensure customer and colleague experience is at the forefront of any CI activities while balancing with the needs of the business
• Lead CI analysis across the whole value stream to identify opportunities to improve or resolve issues to optimise business practices, standards and performance
• Lead the delivery of relevant CI methods, tools and artefacts, including conducting process and root cause analysis, documenting process maps and creating improvement actions/plans with relevant stakeholders
• Provide advice and guidance on all elements of CI across the organisation, including value stream mapping and root cause analysis
• Working closely with colleagues in Product Ownership and Change, create a CI roadmap and backlog that is accessible and transparent, supporting business needs, solution designs and change management
• Lead the design and delivery of CI learning opportunities across multiple channels for varied audiences, reapplying learnings (where appropriate) for maximum business benefit
• Coach and mentor colleagues on the effective application of Lean and CI methodologies to deliver a sustainable continuous improvement culture across the business

Performance and people management
• Build a multi-disciplinary team to support and enable colleagues across the organisation
• Ensure that the CI team performs to a high standard, developing and coaching to ensure consistent, quality, predictable and timely delivery of measurable business benefits
• Provide line management of a CI Analyst, including setting performance objectives, monitoring progress against agreed quality and performance criteria, and embedding the importance of personal development
• Lead by example in proactively building working relationships and knowledge sharing within the unit and with stakeholders; provide coaching, mentoring and support for colleagues to ensure corporate objectives are achieved.
• Responsible for the team’s business plan and budget, including relevant stakeholder engagement to ensure organisation-wide collaboration

Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Essential
Evidence of:
• Experience of leading the development to delivery of CI strategies, principles, practices and standards across a multi-disciplinary organisation
• Substantial knowledge and experience in CI methods and tools at Lean Six Sigma Black Belt level
• Substantial experience of delivering CI methodologies, tools and artefacts across streams, including analysing processes, delivering process mapping, identifying and planning process re-engineering, conducting root cause analysis, and delivering a CI roadmap

Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with peers and business leaders, including coaching and challenging to maximise benefits

• Knowledge of Agile and waterfall project management, preferably as an advisor or stakeholder across a portfolio of complex digital and non-digital projects
• Knowledge or experience of business change management and its impacts
• Strong decision-making capability, able to influence and engage at all levels
• Ability to engage and motivate staff to deliver on objectives, including developing learning solutions to increase knowledge and skills at multiple levels
• Experience of identifying, managing and monitoring CI risk, issues and opportunities
• Expertise in identifying, developing, delivering then monitoring CI performance, including delivery of relevant reports to governing bodies
• Proactive, structured, diligent, collaborative and accessible at all times
• Ability to adapt well to changing environment and activities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including delivering via a range of tools to a variety of audiences
• Experience of MS Office suite to intermediate level including MS Project and MS Visio
