InterQuest are delighted to be working with a well-established and growing challenger bank to help support with the recruitment of a Conduct Risk Manager on a contract basis.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing suitable initiatives to support the business in its identification, assessment, management and reporting of conduct risks.
- supporting the management of risks which materialise
- reviewing incidents to ensure conduct issues are captured and assessed accurately
- provide guidance on the actions to remedy and mitigate risks
- provide expert input into projects and risk reviews
- Analyse and evaluate a range of information to produce insightful analysis, recommendations and advice to influence business decisions
- Development a conduct risk dashboard to enable the business to see and understand its exposure to conduct risk, monitor changes in trends and/or identify emerging risks
- Provide a suite of training material to support engagement and understanding of conduct risk across the business
- Review of regulation to ensure that appropriate policies and frameworks reflect necessary changes and that they capture changes within our methodology and approach to conduct risk management.
- Provide regular reporting to both the Operational Risk Committee and Risk and Compliance Committee.
- Support senior management in the establishment and oversight of an appropriate conduct risk aware culture.
- Actively promotes and ensures adherence to the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of concerns to relevant senior stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Be able to demonstrate strong communications skills and demonstrate an ability to lead conversation and influence discussions to ensure key points are understood and considered.
- Be comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders up to board level
- Have a core understanding of conduct risk and/or operational risk management.
- Demonstrate that they can manage a range of stakeholders.
- Be able to work on their own initiative and enjoy the responsibility of delivering outcomes.
- Have some experience of interpreting regulatory guidelines and/or experience of risk governance.
- Have strong interpersonal skills, be a team player with a positive, supportive and engaged approach to change
