InterQuest Solutions are delighted to be working with one of our most successful clients, a technology leader, in supporting them with the recruitment of a Cashier Payables Assistant based out of their Northampton Office. The role holder will be required to ensure all payable bank related transactions are controlled, recorded and processed in a timely and accurate manner. To manage all bank accounts, ensuring that bank and cash clearing accounts are reconciled on a timely basis.
What is expected of the Cashier Payables Assistant;

- Perform daily reconciliations on the RSS bank accounts using Oracle Cash Management
- Ensure that reconciling items are reviewed cleared on a timely basis
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of suppliers, ensuring no business interruptions occur due to "stop" situations.
- Ensure the Intercompany netting payments process is settled monthly and reconciled.
- Ensure that reconciling items are reviewed cleared on a timely basis
- Ensure funding of non-cash pool accounts is actioned accordingly
- Create journal entries as required
- Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations to meet strict deadlines.
- Ensure refunds are actioned using Servicenow, ensuring appropriate levels of authorization
- Action any ad-hoc requests within Servicenow in a timely manner
- Act as the key contact for all correspondence between the company, the bank and the Op Co
- Monitor the Cashier Payables Mailbox, respond and action emails accordingly
- Electronic scanning, indexing and storage of all payment batches and bank statements
- Ad hoc reporting and supporting of other departmental duties during peak periods
- Ensure that adequate financial controls are followed to meet SOX internal and external audit requirements are met

What we look for in a Cashier Payables Assistant;

- Must be able to read/write/speak English fluently.
- A working knowledge of Oracle is desirable
- Finance/ Accounting background preferable
- Experience in similar position
- Good level of literacy and numeracy
- Ability to work under pressure
- Understanding of banking procedures including BACS, and purchase ledger procedures
- Understanding cash accounting and reconciliation with basic book keeping skills for journal postings
- Computer literate with Intermediate spreadsheet skills
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Flexible attitude and a team player
