Automation Engineering Lead- Security & Defence- SC Clearance

Automation Engineering Lead with current SC Security Clearance is needed to work for our defence & security client who has international reach on high profile national security and defence programme.

The Automation Engineering Lead will be responsible for delivering critical systems and services and will support design decisions in addition to assuring other services and systems quality.

Automation Engineering Lead- Security & Defence- SC Clearance- Essentials

• Awareness of the challenges of implementing complex enterprise IS systems comprising on-premise server infrastructure, hardware, software and networking at UK SECRET and above classification solutions
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Ability to see big-picture designs from basic specifications
• Ability to assess and solve complex problems with many variables
• Experience in support and design in highly secure environments
• Experience with implementing automation frameworks from scratch
• Experience with modern SDLC tools, software version control (Git), and ability to develop and enforce CI/CD practices
• Experience with integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience programming/scripting of multiple Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, Terraform, Ansible, VMware vRealize Automation and Lifecycle Management
• Experience of common automation tools e.g Python, Powershell, Terraform, YAML Experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T, Horizon and AppVolumes
• Experience with creating technical documentation - design documentation - technology and systems/network architecture - technical security standards
• Current SC Security Clearance or eligibility to undergo clearance.
• Sole British Nationals, without any Dual Nationality
• UK resident for at least two of the last 5 years

• Experience of VMware Cloud Foundation running on Dell VxRails
• Experience of Programming/Scripting Infrastructure as Code and Testing
• Experience of common automation tools e.g Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Github
• Firewall configuration, administration and design
• Experience of Gateway and Interoperability technologies used within High classification systems
• Knowledge of IT Service Management tools i.e. SolarWinds, ServiceNow, LogRhythm.

Please note this assignment is outside of IR35 and requires some on site hybrid working, London, south east.
