Application Support Engineer- Lead (Urgent)

Our client is a market leader and have plans to grow expand globally within the next 6 months. They are urgently looking to grow their team and we require an experienced Application Support professional to join their team. The role has responsibility for key applications across the business including building relationships with internal project delivery teams, third parties and software vendors.

You will lead their application support function providing Technical guidance and direction to the team ensuring incidents, requests, changes and availability are managed to SLAs. The role has a focus on reducing repeat issues or requests across the support function through establishing root cause, implementing preventative measures and automating solutions or repeated tasks. To be responsible for the company's Application Monitoring and alerting tools and to look at innovation and future solutions for the support function.


Provide Technical guidance to members of the Application Support team and assist in resolving support issues in line with ITIL processes ensuring:

* Automated incidents and alerts are responded to in a timely manner
* Business or trade impacting issues are escalated out of hours.
* Incident management processes are followed ensuring clear prioritisation and communication of Incidents.
* Collaboration between internal teams (service desk, infrastructure and development) and third parties to resolve issues raised from our clients user community.
* Ensuring knowledgebase articles are created and maintained.
* To perform root cause analysis of Application Support and Servicedesk processes and pain points.

Essential skills:

* A background in application support (ideally Retail).
* Good understanding of SQL and relational databases
* Working with key business stakeholders
* Experience of Incident and Problem Management to a high standard.
* Good problem solving / interrogation skills with experience of having interrogated error logs or other methods to find root cause.
