Application Support Analyst

Aylesbury - 1 year fixed term contract

I am currently working with a large, UK based company in the financial industry, who are looking for an experienced Application Support Analyst to join their expanding team and provide 1 st and 2 nd line support across their applications.

On a day to day basis, you will be:

* Providing first-line support across all supported applications and second line support from development SMEs or infrastructure supplier
* Participating in support rota (including out of hours)
* Tracking personal incident and problem involvement and reporting and contributing to a plan for application improvements
* Developing a capability to assess incidents in 3rd party applications and providing first line support to installation configuration and data; liaising with second line support at the vendor
* Ensuring resolution of application incidents within target service levels
* Conducting post-incident problem analysis and carry out development to remove repeat problems
* Taking part in assessing application developments readiness for implementation and accepting into production on behalf of the Production team

They are looking for candidates with the following experience:

* Up to date data security knowledge
* Experience of managing financial institution data interfaces e.g. BACS, RTI, Banks, PRA
* Ability to accurately risk assess each incident
* Up to date awareness of cyber security developments
* Technical skills in Linux and UNIX environment on financial services applications and payments interfaces (SQL skills and ideally will have used C, C#t)
* In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise applications
* Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques
* Able to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end user procedures
* Experience with building and maintaining databases for query and problem tracking
* ITIL foundation desirable
* Experience within financial services, preferably life and pensions
