Application Services Manager - £60K - Permanent

The clients core customer applications are critical to them achieving their strategic goals. They need to drive how they develop and support the applications to improve customer and user experience, enhance operational efficiencies and better utilise their technology.

Application Services Manager, you will be responsible for continuously improving the support and development of core applications, including CRM, integration layer and ecommerce. You will lead on the implementation of ITIL and Agile methodologies and tools across the Application team, including advising/deciding on and accepting transition of service from projects within our Shaping Our Future transformation programme into business as usual operations.

Reporting into the Head of Information, you'll have responsibility for leading a multi-disciplinary technical team and performance managing third party suppliers. The role also includes establishing robust plans to ensure staff are able to share knowledge and skills to offer matrix working and that mitigates single points of risk within the team, as well as establishing clear development plans for each individual.

We're looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with substantial experience in managing application support and development service functions. With ITIL and potentially Agile qualifications, candidates must be able to lead service transitions from projects, and engage effectively with stakeholders of many levels both internally and third party partners.

Ideally, you'll have experience of leading teams through change, a proven ability to problem solve creatively, robust analytical skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.

ITIL Foundation Certificate
Prince 2 or Agile Certified
Strong understanding of application support and development in Customer
Relationship Management (CRM Dynamics 365), Integration Services, APIs, customer
facing portals and Ecommerce
Substantial experience of data management and governance practices and tools
Good understanding of data protection legislation and implications for the business
and solutions
Previous experience in roles involving business process analysis, design and mapping
Supplier relationship and performance management
Substantial experience in application service operations
Experience of developing IT policies, processes and procedures
Strong reasoning and advisory skills, with the ability to influence others
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with staff at all levels in the
Strong analytical, presentation and report writing skills
