Infrastructure Engineer (Collaboration)

Our multinational client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to act as a focal point within the operations team, whose purpose will be to assist with any technical issues that other teams require assistance with. The incumbent individual will be required to deliver excellent service to all clients whilst leading an example by mentoring and upskilling other engineers.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the point of contact within the team for any technical issues, addressing them in a creative manner, leading to a successful resolution.
* Achieve the day-to-day operational activities, respond to client queries and escalate complaints accordingly by producing a long-term corrective plan.
* Generate a detailed plan for new/ongoing projects to understand the scope and impact for the run team, whilst working closely with the engineering team.
* Recognise improvements to be made within the technology infrastructure through lateral thinking and creativity.
* Represent the manager as and when required in their absence.
* Highlight areas that require refresh, albeit a hardware/software perspective to ensure the operations portfolio remains current.

Essential Skills

* Proven experience in collaborative services infrastructure.
* Strong troubleshooting experience in:

- Outlook

- Exchange

- Skype (Business) and endpoints

- Messaging Technologies

- SIP Gateways (Ribbon)

- Office 365, RightFax, Facsys, Proofpoint etc.

* Good understanding of IT infrastructure technologies (e.g. x86 servers, virtualisation, storage, databases, end user solutions).
* Ability to build relationships with different people through excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Superb analytical/problem solving skills

Desirable Skills

* An understanding of Financial Services or other regulated industry sectors.
* Experience in security design/operation components.
