Data Protection Manager

Skills & Experience
• Understanding of the information lifecycle through experience in data management and/or data governance activities.
• Advanced experience in stakeholder management, being able to grow and develop the stakeholder engagement across a global community.
• High organisational and planning skills in order to scope projects and initiatives; clear evidence of seeing an initiative through from conception to implementation.
• Experienced in defining, developing and implementing management information and metrics.
• Effective analytical capability to analyse information, identify gaps or trends, build solutions and improvements based on analytical findings.
• Solid understanding of the risk and control environment to support the drive to improve the control environment, including system controls, system rules, manual controls, data quality controls.
• Logical understanding of the IT environment and how data is transferred through the IT infrastructure.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Also:
• Lead the data governance program office with broad oversight over the data governance program.
• Drive the documentation, approval, and operationalization of data policies, standards, and processes.
• Facilitate ongoing communication to executive stakeholders across the company.
• Manage alignment with data owners across the company.
• Oversee the activities of the business data stewards.
• Support data quality efforts, including the definition of business rules.



• Monitor accountability for Data Governance in the UK&I business to ensure there is evidence of a clear line of accountability to the Board.
• Maintains a central register of Data Governance roles across the UK&I business.
• Provide SME support and monitor Business compliance with the Data Governance Directive.
• Provide SME support to the Business in agreeing remediation actions to address key risks and issues where necessary.
• Maintain and monitor the central map of Data Governance related policies and processes aligned to the Data Governance Standard.
• Identify where UK&I, or local level policies and processes are required to support good Data Governance practices.
• Identify and share best practice across the business.
• Together with Training teams, oversee and drive completion of training across the UK&I business and 3rd parties
• Facilitate and propose for agreement, cross-Business Area and strategic purposes for data collection or creation.
• Monitor the collection of consent, where required, for the UK&I business’ use of data
• Identify and propose where enhancements are required.
• Input into strategic change programmes / projects
• Oversight, monitor and drive the adoption and embedding of data governance requirements through change processes.
• Support the maintenance of a central register of all internal parties/legal entities across the UK&I business receiving transferred or shared data
• Support the maintenance of a central register of all external parties receiving shared data
• Support the embedding of Data Governance into the UK&I business procurement and outsourcing processes.
• Monitor the adoption of the Data Governance requirements within the Group Procurement & Outsourcing processes.
• Support the maintenance of a central view of the basis on which data is being shared/used by the business.
