IQ Public Sector have an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Digital Project Manager to join a leading Public Sector client as part of a large digital transformation programme to improve and deliver online services for customers and residents.

They are seeking an organised and diligent Project Manager with good experience of delivering digital projects. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders and maintain an effective good working relationship.

You’ll ensure all Digital projects follow project management best practice and Council standards for project delivery (project documentation, communication, resource planning and clear return on investment), taking ownership in ensuring that all services and stakeholders are regularly communicated with, understand their role and are clear on the resources and skills they need to provide.

What are the key responsibilities?
- To work effectively as part of the Council’s Chief Executive Directorate, delivering corporate objectives through the work of Digital Transformation.
- To work with key stakeholders, residents and service users in improving service quality and promoting creative and innovative ways of ensuring services delivered meet the needs of our community and are accessible to all users;
- To work with other officers across the organisation to ensure services are integrated at the point of delivery and to identify new opportunities for business efficiencies;
- Provide project management to the delivery of Digital Roadmaps and other Digital related projects including:
- Maintaining effective governance and intervention structures which ensure effective delivery of Digital projects and highlighting any resource requirements or programme risks;
- Identifying problems with the development or delivery of Digital projects and take corrective action;
- Ensure delivery of successful outcomes to all Digital roadmaps with clear benefits realisation and return on investment principles built into all project manager activities.
- Work closely with other teams including ICT to support the on-going development of technical roadmaps for each Department ensuring that dependencies, risks, resources (human and finance), benefits realisation/return on investment and project governance are consistently applied across all projects and take responsibility when projects do not follow the agreed principles.
- You will take responsibility for scheduling, coordinating and managing all cross-project activity, budget, resource planning and monitoring in conjunction with the Digital Programme Lead.

Essential experience required:
- At least 3 years’ experience of management of complex digital/technical programmes;
- Experience of analysing and services through technologically inspired change;
- Experience of managing and motivating staff of various levels;
- Experience of managing diverse resources (internal and external);
- Proven aptitude for specifying technical solutions that are customer focused and aligned with Council objectives;
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of technical solutions, building good relationships and motivating project team colleagues.

Essential qualifications:
• Degree level qualification, e.g. ICT, business management, or equivalent working experience in a senior role;

• Postgraduate qualification in ICT or management or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Qualification in Agile project methodology.
• PRINCE2 accreditation.
