The post-holder will be providing applications support including IBM SPSS. The role will involve supporting users within an academic department by assisting with any technical problems and troubleshooting which may arise in conjunction with the wider IT support teams. The post-holder will also assist the research lab with administration which includes but is not limited to ensuring the check-out and full check-in of lab equipment borrowed for tests/research.

Main technical responsibilities:
• To support staff deliver quantitative data analysis software for VLE and class environments (e.g. SPSS, Stata, R)
• To support staff deliver qualitative data analysis software for VLE and class environments (e.g. Nvivo, Dedoose, Atlas.ti)
• To support staff deliver software systems for conducting systematic reviews working with the both generic and specialised review software
• To provide support and guidance for staff using software for lab workshops and seminars such as online testing software
• To trouble shoot during class delivery as technical problems arise

Experience/skills required:
• General desktop support knowledge
• Working knowledge of Windows 7 & 10
• IBM SPSS usability experience (essential)
• IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, statistical and programming tools, including IBM SPSS, Qualtrics, Matlab, E-Prime, Python, Superlab.
• Good written & verbal communication skills to enable explanation of technical issues and processes
• Ability to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure.
• Appropriate statistical skills;
• Familiarity with at least one data collection & analysis package, e.g. Stata, SPSS, Nvivo and enthusiasm to learn about more;
• Familiarity with online data collection and testing software
