IQ Public Sector are working exclusively with a key local authority to on-board a permanent Desktop Support Team Leader to embark on the Council’s major transformation programme which is putting SMART working and improvements to customer service at the forefront of everything they do.

You will manage and direct the work of the Desktop Support teams ensuring the effective and efficient day to day running of all ICT client operations, including remote sites and being the primary point of contact for understanding business needs and ensuring that SLAs and operating procedures are shaped around customer needs.

What are the key responsibilities?
• Manage the Desktop Support teams – oversee the training and development of these teams in order to provide the full range of support across all devices, relevant applications and peripherals.
• Develop processes and standards of delivery in line with ITIL methodologies and shaping them around the requirements of the business.
• Lead in the development and upkeep of all documentation, regular review of processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, maintain and share central knowledge base and up to date service catalogue.
• Demonstrate clear leadership and manage a high quality, customer focused team.

What are the key skills and experience required?
• Good working understanding of ITIL principles.
• Strong experience of managing a customer facing ICT team such as ICT Service Desk or ICT Desktop team.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft operating system management including Windows 7 and 10. Good working knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint and other applications.
• Experience managing technical projects.

Desirable:
• ITIL certification.
• PRINCE2 certification.
• Background working in a Public Sector or Educational organisation.
