My Client is currently have an exciting opportunity for a ICT Business Applications Analyst/Systems Administrator.

You will be joining them at an exciting transition period as we relocate to a new Civic Centre and embrace agile ways of working with improvements to customer service at the forefront of everything they do. They are also building a new Greenfield Data Centre to help create new shared services across London.

You will become part of the new Applications Team and play a pivotal role in ensuring changes within their IT systems meet the needs of residents, stakeholders and internal users. You will have a key part in redesigning ways of working to improve services, ICT and efficiencies within the new structure of the Council and help ensure a culture of continuous improvement.

As the ICT Business Applications Analyst/Systems Administrator you be working as part of a team of business application analysts to help develop and maintain all business applications and make sure they operate at full potential and support the delivery of the ICT Strategy and associated roadmaps.
You will be responsible for ensuring that interfaces, integrations, outputs and web services to/from applications are running efficiently and manage any disruption to service. This will include taking responsibility for communications, liaising with suppliers, services and residents.

Day to day will require you to ensure all business applications are well managed, supported, have no single points of failure as far as possible and fully documented so that systems can be fully exploited by the client and can meet the challenge of digital delivery and users are using to maximum capacity.

You will have strong technical ability with regards to application database management and will have a detailed understanding of all elements of the application; versions, desktop packaging, database requirements.

There will also be the added responsibility to line manage trainees/apprentices and where required provide management support to services and teams.

What are the key responsibilities?

• Support the delivery of the ICT Strategy and associated ICT Roadmaps and business applications so that all upgrades and other changes are accurately scheduled with minimum impact to the business and other ICT projects;
• Support development and design processes, building the service catalogue knowledge base. Ensure that designs and solutions are appropriately documented, kept up to date ensure all systems are fully operational, patched, compliant, correctly licensed and supported;
• Ensure all interfaces, integrations, outputs and web services to/from applications are running efficiently and manage any disruption to service including taking responsibility for communications, liaising with suppliers, services and ensuring outages that impact on the democratic process and residents are prioritised;
• Resolve owned incidents, calling on the expertise of other teams and managing external suppliers;

What are the key skills/experience required?

• Good working knowledge and experience of managing relational databases, cloud based applications and services and/or web based applications;
• At least 3 years working experience in a systems administrator/analyst role
• Excellent ICT skills resulting in a good overall ICT literacy
• Experience of working closely with business customers in order to maintain applications that suit the needs of the business.
• Strong technical ability with regards to application database management and will have a detailed understanding of all elements of the application; versions, desktop packaging, database requirements etc.
• Strong application skills including systems administration, change control, user management, database environment management, programming
• Strong experience of maintaining systems and processes so that they are developed in line with business requirements
