InterQuest Solutions are working on behalf of their client, a renowned Insurance company based in West London, looking for a Management Accountant to join their team.

Within the I&A department we are implementing a new Finance platform due to go live 1st May, this is happening alongside the delivery of the year-end accounts/ audit and changes to our claims platforms. During this period of change we are looking for a proactive individual to support the finance team, to get involved with the team, pick up tasks as required and look to improve and develop processes as we work on imbedding the new system.

This role is a 6 month fixed term contract within the Insurance & Assistance division of the Company. This role will predominately support the Management Accountant’s. The main tasks of the role will include balance sheet reconciliations, processing of premium bordereaux, completion of month end processes and any other ad hoc tasks required within the team.

Responsibilities:

The key accountabilities of the Management Accountant will encompass:

• Support the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure integrity is maintained within the production of the monthly management accounts.
• Assist with the production of the Group Statutory Pack for each legal entity which incorporates the P&L, Balance Sheet and other analysis tabs as required
• To assist the Finance Assistants to ensure all accruals, prepayments and ad hoc journals are processed with a high level of accuracy and understanding
• Assist with the clearing of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all aged items are managed and cleared in a timely manner, working with other parts of the Business as necessary
• Work with the Management accounts to manage the inter-company position, ensuring this is reconciled monthly to agree with the other group entities.
• Maintain and monitor reconciliations for systems feeds into SAP forming part of the management accounts/ financial statements
• Work with Finance Operations to ensure all transactions processed are accurate and complete and recorded in a timely manner
• Ensure robust controls are in place look to enhance where possible
• Strive to deliver process improvements, delivering ‘best’ in class processes


Skills and Experience:

• Qualified or Part Qualified with experience post qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT or Equivalent)
• Good knowledge of SAP accounting system required
• High personal levels of motivation and delivery orientated focus.
• A proactive, forward looking and challenging mindset.
• Detail focused with strong organisation and planning skills
• Ability to interact with and develop working relationships internally and externally in order to achieve best outcomes for the business and customer.
• Knowledge and experience of best practice within industry to consistently improve delivery within department
