Overview:

The Fraud Risk team is responsible for the development and embedding of a robust Fraud Risk Management Framework across the business to protect the organisation and its customers. This includes external and internal fraud risk, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) riskand the risk of failing to prevent the facilitation of tax evasion.

Purpose:

The role holder will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance and oversight of the business in line our Group Risk Framework and in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements. This role will involve some travel to other locations in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a strong understanding of the key fraud risks and controls across the business, ensuring these are adequately identified, assessed and managed.
Provide subject matter expert guidance and oversight of fraud analysis and the use of the fraud detection systems.
Undertaken regular fraud loss trend analysis to identify themes and problem fraud performance.
Ongoing review and challenge of fraud-related issues and events.
Ensure appropriate management information (MI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) are in place to effectively monitor and oversee all fraud risks.
Coordination of all fraud related MI; delivering insightful and concise reporting to committees and senior management.
Skills & Experience:

Prior experience of fraud detection systems and fraud analytics.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Experience of risk management with particular knowledge and expertise of financial crime, ideally in any of the following financial products Credit Cards, Savings, Loans, Mortgages, PCA and internal fraud.
Ability to provide intellectual rigor to risk assessment, development of business solutions and decision making.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Develop a strong understanding of the key fraud risks and controls across the business, ensuring these are adequately identified, assessed and managed (using key Operational Risk tools such as RADAR, incident management, reporting and analysis, and risk assessment).
Provide subject matter expert guidance and oversight of fraud analysis and the use of the fraud detection systems.
Undertaken regular fraud loss trend analysis to identify themes and problem fraud performance; taking action to further investigate root causes and engage first line of defence (1LOD) colleagues to agree solutions.
Ongoing review and challenge of fraud-related issues and events.
Ensure appropriate management information (MI) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) are in place to effectively monitor and oversee all fraud risks.
Coordination of all fraud related MI; delivering insightful and concise reporting to committees and senior management.
A working understanding of the governance and regulatory environment (particularly COB, FCA Handbook, SYSC, JMLSG as well as other key AML and anti-terrorism legislation in so far as they impact the management of financial crimes).

Desirable:

A recognised qualification in risk management and/or financial crime prevention.
A working understanding of the governance and regulatory environment.
Experience of programming in SAS and/or SQL.
