The Unsecured Capital & Impairment modelling team is a group of analytical experts that play a vital role in keeping the bank safe. Through the development and maintenance of prudential models the team ensures the Retail bank is well capitalised and provisioned for. The team’s main stakeholders are the PCA, Credit Card and Loans Product and Credit Risk teams.

As the Senior Manager, you’ll lead a team of Managers and analysts to ensure that our models are compliant with the Basel II accord as well as IFRS9 and therefore a close and trusted relationship with our internal Model Governance team, the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and our Auditors is essential. Working collaboratively with the business, the modelling team provides innovative and value-adding models, analytics and insight that enable the business to grow sustainably and deliver enhanced outcomes and customer experiences, whilst complying with the regulators.

You will have the opportunity to learn about how important holding the optimal capital and provisions impacts customers and the bank and how the modelling team influences the bank’s P&L in a proactive, collaborative manner.


Proven experience of leading a team, influencing strategy and developing a collaborative senior stakeholder network.
A strong regulatory capital background which includes knowledge of Basel and capital requirements or experience in leading a technical modelling team is essential.
The modelling team have detailed technical modelling knowledge, so the Senior Manager’s role is to harness this knowledge and translate it into business strategy. Experience of working in a modelling environment within a financial organisation ideal Previous Maths / Statistical qualification is preferred
