Agile Delivery Manager

The role holder will be working in a fantastic working environment with a cooperative development team. You will be part of the IT team that is introducing agility into a cornerstone of British banking. This is only possible due to forward thing leadership who recognize the advantages of adopting an agile mindset.

You will:
• employ a servant leadership style, leading by example, with a focus on team alignment.
• Do what is necessary to promote team engagement with the ultimate aim of build a high-performance team that delivery value to our customers.
• Support the team in delivering software from concept to live.
• Be responsible for creating a fun and stimulating environment for the software development teams for one operational team (Kanban) and one product team (Scrum).
• Endeavor to reducing the time to deliver features whilst improving the quality of software delivered.
• Identify and assist transitioning teams to the process that are most suitable for them instilling a culture of retrospection and self-monitoring.
• Assist in building a trusting and safe environment with an emphasis of healing and problem solving over blame.
• Assist in the wider IT initiative of improving transparency and radiating relevant and timely information.
• Be a creative person who wants to work with creative people and rise to the challenge of doing more with less.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development or equivalent level of education

Background and experience necessary:
• Expert understanding of agile philosophy & workstyle and techniques.
• At least 3 year’s experience in running Scrum and/or Kanban teams
• Be skilled in the art of remove blockers that slow down the team and can evidence your skills. You are a “getting things done” type with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Able to identify, manage, help and mitigate project issues and risks. You will assist in the communications of changes in scope, delays and other detrimental events appropriately. You will monitor and communicate sprint progress, update team RAID logs, produce metrics and track progress of sprints.
• Help to managing the backlog, creating stories, grooming and prioritization.
• Arrange and lead agile ceremonies.
• Have a working understanding of feature story mapping / impact mapping techniques.
• You promote an environment of Kaizen (continuous improvement).
• Skilled in identify areas where teams are facing challenges and guide them through to resolution.
• Know the importance of ‘baking in’ testing and testability into all development activities to ensure quality of deliverables. Able to demonstrate how you’ve introduced collaborative design (as opposed to over design upfront) and ensured testing right from the start.
• An excellent understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and experienced with the design, coding, test, build, QA, deployment and operational maintenance.
• An understanding of Git style source control and know what’s needed to ensure an efficient delivery pipeline.
• Have experience in leading diverse teams that operate in multiple domains, across geographies
• Fantastic communicator with strong interpersonal and communication skills
