Senior Sales Manager

We want to find highly intelligent, well connected sales people who really understand the business issues and commercial drivers facing marketing/sales heads and that can communicate clearly the value of my clients products.

The Industry Sector is less important, but knowledge of the Marketing Sector’s various technological solutions is key.

This person will be able to create, leverage and build up a significant network of decision makers to present the solution.

Key sectors:

Typical customers will be large enterprise with significant sales/marketing teams.
Typical deal size will be £30-50k per annum, on a subscription basis.

The hiring managers look for:

Driven, Hungry, determined Sales professionals with a huge BD appetite.
The ability to build a network, make cold contact, that won’t shy away from door opening and networking. Someone who will immerse themselves in lead generation and customer engagement.
Character, Intelligence, Coachability, Experience

Enormously customer focused people who are highly tenacious, highly engaging – who can:

Make customer contact from scratch, organise customer workshops / stakeholder meetings / leverage and motivate internal expertise to deliver exceptional results / hold deal review meetings and really act in sync with the customer.
They will need to be extremely inquisitive, be commercially very astute and understand the endless possibilities (and value) that our clients products can deliver. Politically very smart and able to work under intense pressure. Strong listening skills and ability to get to the heart of issues.

They will be communicating at Senior Level and will therefore need to have 10 years plus experience driving, steering and coordinating business development and account activity, pulling together internal technical specialists and pre-sales people to ensure customer solutions are created and sales closed.

They will have sold complex cloud based B2B software solutions within the sales & marketing world.


Purpose of Role:

The Sales Executive will drive generate leads and engage, interact and execute sales initiatives to drive forwards new business initiatives

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Identify prospects, pursue and close sector specific sales opportunities by positioning the value of our clients solutions.

To effectively manage pipeline, achieve orders targets and provide realistic, timely forecast data.

• Create high-quality sales documents (including RFI responses and proposals) within required timescales. Ensure effective use of collateral.
• To be the customers’ key contact and trusted advisor, for strategic technology planning and execution, ensuring that ‘the right education is delivered at the right time to the right people’, hence contributing to the success of thel brand.
• To contribute to revenue growth and profitability by developing and closing software (and service) sales in new customers, including complex strategic accounts, competitive situations and large deals.
• Develop trusted advisor status with customers. Create strong, long-lasting relationships with senior level decision makers, up to board level, to optimise business and achieve strategic references in identified major and strategic accounts.
• Works with the Directors and in-house team to develop and execute programs to drive pipeline & close deals
• Develops sales best practices securing repeatable and expansive opportunities across named accounts
• To act with a high degree of autonomy, handling all but the most complex deals independently and efficiently. Where appropriate, developing innovative solutions and providing advice to customer stakeholders on course of action required.
• Achieve or exceed orders, revenue, profitability and ‘product mix’ targets. Focus on quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Manage all aspects of account management for assigned customers and sectors. In strategic opportunities, analyse customers’ business requirements, needs and objectives.
• Present our clients services at marketing events and customer information sessions. Deliver pre-sales presentations and product awareness

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10 years’ customer facing Sales and New Business development experience.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in selling software products and associated tools within the Sales & Marketing arena
• Proven track record in target achievement
• Excellent Communication skills
• Teamwork & Collaboration
• Presentation skills

Education
Minimum degree level qualification or equivalent in Computing/Business
