Head of Service Assurance & Service Strategy
£70,000 Base salary plus benefits
Location: Manchester


The role facilities ensuring that technology, process, and resources are operating efficiently and continuous improvement of the service to improve the delivery of service, in a cost effective manner, aligned with the IT Strategy.

The role is accountable for ensuring the engagement and delivery of IT Services to the business meets agreed targets, and manages expectations of stakeholders in the business. It ensures that any underpinning agreements with suppliers are measured, monitored and managed.

The role ensures that the operational risks are tracked and managed through the IT Service Operations unit, and that good mechanisms are in place for tracking, managing, and reporting on performance.

Scope of Responsibility;

• Line Management of multiple functions in accordance with the Job specification

• Serve as an ITIL expert in the analysis / development of existing processes, procedures and methods to promote effective business and systems operations through standards, improvement, simplification and discontinuance.

• Drive process change by integrating new processes with existing ones. Maintain the proper balance between the need for change and the potential detrimental impact of changes to processes.

• Responsible for the oversight of all Major Technical Incidents to ensure their prompt resolution. This will involve overseeing investigations take place for serious incidents, and working with the respective business areas to ensure accurate and timely information is disseminated to senior stakeholders and end-users.

• Responsibility for chairing the IT Ops weekly review board. The purpose of the board will be to discuss IT Operations service performance, and governance against agreed targets.

• Ensure functions including Supplier Management, are effective, meeting expectations, and delivering value for money against contractual obligations.


Expectations & Qualifications;

•ITIL V3 Foundation
•Enterprise scale vulnerability management and configuration solutions
•Confident leader with excellent presentation and communication skills and with a demonstrable track record of motivating others
•Excellent inter-personal and communications skills and able to communicate at board level
