Software Asset Management Specialist

Location: Germany

An exciting opportunity with client based Germany, is looking for a Software Asset Management (SAM) Specialist (f/m) to support the IT Asset Management & Sourcing team.

Responsabilities;

Work closely with the SAM team to understand priorities, manage multiple efforts simultaneously, and exceed goals.
Use software scanning tools and processes to get a software inventory
Interpreting and tracking changes with licensing terms and conditions
Collect and analyze software license agreements, contracts and purchase orders, and to extract key information (i.e. use rights, license forms, and license metrics)
Create effective processes for SAP license tracking and optimization
Perform regular license harvesting and optimization activities (e.g. desktop SW usage cleanup/optimization)
Perform with a level of autonomy that requires little direct supervision, utilizing experience and knowledge to perform duties
To foster a culture of software asset management and compliance
Support asset transfers in case of company mergers/acquisitions/divestures
Perform regular software audits to ensure software compliance throughout the firm
Provide trainings to IT employees and power users in order to properly understand licensing risks
Identify savings opportunities for software purchases and renewals

Your profile:

Previous work experience in Software Asset Management area of min. 2 years
Advanced understanding of SAP licensing metrics and rules
Proficient understanding of Microsoft/Oracle licensing metrics and rules
Understanding of various hardware technologies and their impact on software licensing
Capability to structure varied requests into consistent standards and design documents
Strong verbal skills and experience talking to senior management
Very good English knowledge
Presentation and documentation skills
Strong analytical skills
Willingness to expand the skill set and learn about licensing of new software suppliers
Willingness to travel (~10% of time)
