HVAC Engineer - Data Centre - North-East
35,000 - 36,000 dependent on experience

My client, based in the North-East, offers Colocation and Cloud services. They are looking for a HVAC Engineer to join their expanding team. The HVAC Engineer will be responsible for all planned and reactive maintenance on all Air Conditioning plants, air handling units and CRACs, Hot & Cold water services etc.

Duties
• PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance): carrying out maintenance activities to SOP’s to optimize the performance of plant
• Reactive Maintenance: To provide reactive maintenance response to all Building services requirements during business hours and share in the 24/7 roster with the technical team for all times outside of business hours.
• PPE Gear: To utilize PPE gear appropriate for individual tasks.
• Health & safety: To observe all health and safety processes in the execution of the maintenance duties.
• BCP: To actively participate in the live and simulated BCP scheduled processes
• Training: To participate in industry CPD and training programmes to maintain proficiency and absorb latest practices
• CRM: To play an active role in supporting the client CRM processes
• To meet and supervise external contractors as required
• Plant rooms, store rooms: ensure they are kept clean and tidy
• All Colos: Ensure are maintained to standard
• Whole site activities – To assist with BCP, Fire drills, Load bank testing, etc.
• Carry out to a high standard general repairs where possible as well as be competent in light bulb replacement, furniture repairs, basic plumbing duties etc.
• Daily and weekly maintenance:- Carry out
• Monthly/quarterly maintenance: Carry out
• Routine monthly checks on emergency lighting: Carry out
• Maintain effective communication and inter relationships with all members of the on-site and off-site teams
• To keep safety as a priority for both self and staff and ensure that all incidents are recorded and reported in line with policies and procedures
• To ensure that excellent customer care is practiced
• To work as a team member, displaying good attitudes and behaviors
• To attend meetings/training courses as required and follow through on personal development plans
• Any other administration tasks as requested by the Facilities Manager
• Provide a courteous, friendly, timely service

Required Experience
• Time served Refrigeration Engineer
• DC Pro certification: design, operations, energy efficiency
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office


Desirable Experience
• Experience working in a Colocation / Data Centre critical infrastructure environment
• 5 years Post qualification HVAC Experience
• Knowledge of working in a CMMS environment
• Planned Preventative Maintenance knowledge
