Electrical Design Engineer

A Leading Telecommunications organisation based in Slough requires an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team as the technical authority on a contract basis. The purpose of this role is to ensure all electrical standards are adhered to and implemented within Networks. The team requires a candidate with previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer with knowledge of DC (Direct Current) and have worked in the Telecoms industry, ideally with an operator or vendor. This is contract initially till the end of 2018 but will be looking to extend from there on.
The successful candidate must possess an in depth knowledge of telecoms as they will be expected to lead in this area from the outset with minimal guidance.
Networks are responsible within following areas / site types: macro, street furniture, microcells, small cells, corporate, Special Projects and Special Events.

Responsibilities:
*Ensures design standards and solutions are in accordance with the appropriate BS EN standard or legislation. Comply with the latest electrical procedures, legislation and industry skills and implement these into guidance and education to ensure all stakeholders and working to them.
*Preparation of design guidance documentation for publishing to internal and external stakeholders, this includes (but not limited to) various power equipment that are currently installed within the network and potentially any new equipment that may be introduced.
*Must work closely and with other members of the team who produce power site solutions. This is to ensure that all solutions are documented correctly, and all standards/regulations are worked within and documented.
*Review any existing electrical documentation and update
*Responsible for DC power systems and working with organisations equipment vendors to ensure all required information has been provided to produce documentation.

Requirements
*Have an in-depth working knowledge of current Legislation (such BS 7671 / EAWR 1989) and other relevant Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to the design of Electrical Systems.
*Presentational skills to go a long side a deep understanding of the electrical space, ability to present to large groups of stake holders
*Commercial experience to help plan cost and scope of objectives and define and present these to various stake holders specific to the project.
*Act as an expert reference point for all site design queries related to the roles particular field, and to ensure the clear communication of design & standards information is issued to all relevant parties (internal/external deployment managers and external design managers) and to maintain the electrical standards.
*Hold current qualifications related to BS7671 at C & G level. Minimum of a proven successful electrical apprenticeship in electrical engineering.
*Microsoft office skills essential.
