The role:

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to test development of our client and internally facing web applications, developed using Angular/NodeJS. Your primary focus will be to manually feature test all changes and build an automated suite of acceptance tests to support subsequent releases. The successful candidate will be comfortable collaborating with multiple areas of the business including Developers, UX Designers, Product Managers and Platform Engineers. The role requires someone who is comfortable acting as a quality advocate, challenging the status quo to ensure quality is baked in to all aspects of our delivered applications. This is a challenging position that demands involvement throughout the delivery process, from helping to shape the initial business requirements, to coordination of releasing the final product.

What you can expect as a QA Engineer

Design and build an automated test suite using Protractor and Cucumber
Perform all forms of automated and manual testing (functional and non functional) to support deployment of new releases
Work closely with Product Managers and Developers to ensure requirements are being met
Write test scenarios from business requirements to form the basis of automated test suites
Work with QA and Development teams to constantly strive for improvements in the test approach
Write detailed defect descriptions and perform impact analysis to prioritise for delivery
Liaise with Platform team to coordinate Production releases
Build local collections of API requests to aid front end testing
What we are looking for:


Professional, precise communication skills
Solid, demonstrable experience working as a QA Engineer within an Agile environment
Demonstrable experience of Scrum and Kanban methodologies
Experience in building automated test suites, preferably using Protractor and Cucumber
Some knowledge of an OO programming language, ideally JavaScript
Experience with branching and version control tools such as GIT
Understanding of CI systems such as Travis
Ability to write solid test scenarios in a BDD format
Good knowledge of API testing using Postman, SoapUI or similar
Solid experience of using bug tracking software, ideally Jira

Familiarity of AWS services and how they are used
Experience using Browserstack to implement cross device automated tests
Ability to write clear, concise user manuals/guides
Proven experience of non functional testing using open source tools such as JMeter
