Senior Finance Analyst- Northampton

Interquest Solutions are currently working on behalf of their client, a renowned electronics company based in Northampton, looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the team. You will be managing a small team, so previous management experience is desirable

Job Purpose
To manage a team ensuring that reconciliations and accounting procedures are performed to Group standards (including preparation and analysis of the company’s Head Office accounts) and that all requirements and service levels are met or exceeded whilst maximising customer satisfaction. Encourage innovation, sharing of ideas and a continuous improvement philosophy within their team and projecting this outwards too across MTB and the wider SSC.

Key Responsibilities
• To manage, train, coach, develop and inspire the team abroad
• Oversee month end close processes for the General Ledger and posting of month end journals, ensuring accuracy of financial statements
• Ensure that all reconciliations have been performed and recorded consistently according to SSC company guidelines and completed on time. Ensure that any issues which could potentially compromise achievement of deadlines are satisfactorily addressed
• Periodically review reconciliations to check compliance with Group procedures
• Ensure reported system errors have all been satisfactorily resolved in a timely manner
• Manage departmental performance in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
• Produce forecasts, monthly accounts and budget for Head Office companies
• Review commentaries, variance analysis and supporting documentation to assist the understanding and performance of the supported Head Office entities
• Work with SSC senior management to ensure effective management of Head Office costs
• Lead, motivate and organise personnel to adhere to the company’s core values and deliver a high level of staff engagement.
• Ensure adequate financial controls are in place including compliance with SOX and ensuring that internal and external audit requirements are met.
• Work with other Shared Service entities to ensure alignment of structure, process and procedure, sharing best practice across Shared Services and driving continuous improvement
• Provide support to the Manager MTB as required
• Other ad hoc activities as required

Key Performance Measures
Key performance measures will include month end closed on time, all reconciliations adequately performed and recorded within SLA. SOX, internal and external audit requirements must be met. Reconciling items must be identified and correcting journal entries made within appropriate timescales. Monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and commentaries are prepared in accordance with the Group timetables.

? Maintain a high degree of focus on results/deliverables, through regular/continuous review and accurate and timely reporting
? Understanding of the company’s products and services to be able to interpret the results in terms of the business expectations
? Dealing with ‘difficult customers’, resolving conflict and confrontation
? High degree of commercial experience, understand impact of decisions taken


Knowledge, Education, Skills and Experience

? Must be able to read/write/speak English fluently
? A working knowledge of Oracle financials would be beneficial but not essential
? Extensive experience of complex reconciliations is a prerequisite
? Intermediate/advanced excel skills are required
? College degree in finance or business administration or advanced education
? Professional accounting qualification
? Must have a strong customer focus (for internal stakeholders and external customers)
? Must be able to prioritise and make decisions in the given framework for actions;
? Must be an effective and confident communicator (written and verbal)
? Must be able to motivate, inspire and generate enthusiasm throughout the team;
? Must be able to manage people performance in a positive direction
? Understanding, to analyse and manage capacities


Professional experiences
? Minimum of 5 years work experience in finance, preferably including large / global organisation
? Minimum 2 years experiences in efficient and effective team supervision
