Test Manager

We are currently representing one of the leading names in the UK financial services market (FTSE 100Co) in their search for an experienced Test Manager to work in their state of the art office on the Sussex Coast.

Responsibilities

- Deliver Business and Non Functional Testing for projects to agreed time/budget/quality tolerances as laid down in business case, test strategies and commercial agreement with IT service providers.
- Create the business test deliverables throughout the whole project lifecycle applying best practice testing principles to ensure cost effective testing whilst balancing business risk.
- Determine the appropriate test approach for both functional and non-functional testing, methodologies, tools and resourcing liaising with Business, IT function (including 3rd parties) to ensure cost effective testing and that coverage mitigates business risk.
- Control entry criteria to Business Testing and make recommendations at exit from Business Testing. Ensure that effective and strong test management is delivered across projects for which you are responsible.
- Provide effective communication across Business units, IT function (including 3rd parties) to support and manage the smooth delivery of test activity. Ensure that any issues affecting testing are managed effectively and clearly communicated to key stakeholders.
- Conduct test reviews (including Static testing) throughout the development lifecycle, identifying any exceptions to agreed Entry/Exit Criteria and agreeing appropriate responses with all internal and external stakeholders taking into account commercial implications of proposed way(s) forward
- Coordinate activities within and across Business units and IT function (including 3rd parties) to deliver the test strategies, providing expert advice and guidance on test methods, techniques and tools at all stages of the development life cycle with the aim of implementing the best approach to testing and facilitating the business through this process.
- Comply with the agreed test methodology and standards to ensure strong governance and record keeping in line with the company's test principles and commercial interests.
-Participate and lead test planning sessions and retrospective reviews, and be involved in key initiatives to implement best practices in testing and quality assurance.
- Lead the test teams for which you are responsible and have the ability to manage distributed teams.
- Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.

Skills Required:

- Extensive test management experience
- Experience in people management, mentoring and performance management of direct reports
- Manage the expectations of various key stakeholders and communicate testing progress throughout testing lifecycle, including risks and issues, enabling informed decisions around project go live
- Excellent communication skills - have the ability to communicate and work effectively alongside project teams and to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Change & IT department and business areas
- Be an ambassador of testing within the Change & IT function, ensuring that strong relationships are built across disciplines and delivery teams to ensure test processes and methodologies are followed and clearly understood
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall
- Experience of working on Infrastructure Change projects - desirable
- Experience in using a range of tools used within application delivery - JIRA, Confluence, ALM

In return you will receive a salary of between £55,000 and £65,000 and an extensive range of benefits for you and your family, which include; 25 days holiday, PMI, Pension, Agile working (x3 days office based x2 days home working) and a performance related bonus (av 15% per annum).
