My client are a UK based Automotive business going through a signifficant amount of technological enhancement and moving their IT Operations toward a DevOps structure and looking to hire staff to lead that.

This role has responsibilities for the management, support and efficient running of a portfolio of business apps running on Azure. Working within the Technology Support team you will support the ongoing development and customisation of the systems. You will support and operate multiple applications, be responsible for monitoring, housekeeping, have sufficient product knowledge, write scripts, understand the flow of data and diagnostics.
You’ll provide 2nd line support to internal users, with a small team of 1st line analysts reporting to you (1 or 2 but this should grow). You’ll also use your expertise and experience to help continually improve the tech support team processes and working practices, actively enabling the department to become as efficient and effective as it can be.

Accountabilities
1. Fielding and resolving incidents/requests
2. Having a full understanding of the future company Azure cloud solution
3. Assisting with process improvement within production and delivery, always keeping continuous delivery/integration at heart
4. Assisting our business to maximise their websites in a production environment focusing on availability and performance
5. Provide technical guidance to, and communicate effectively with the business
6. Continuously identify opportunities and recommend improvements to resolve business issues to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships
7. Be the subject matter expert for the production applications and CRM solutions delivered by the company
8. Provide documentation for known issues, problems and operational tasks
9. Promote best practices, tools and processes for production solutions
10. Pro-actively identify opportunities for the optimising of existing applications and manage these as BAU projects
11. Drive continuous service improvement activities (with innovation as required) through best practices
12. Manage the delivery and ongoing availability of both internally and externally developed systems through active management of operational incidents and tracking the workloads and schedules of the team
13. Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity, innovation and high performance
14. Identify skills and knowledge gaps in order to continuously improve the support levels offered
15. Any other duties commensurate with the role. This role is expected to develop along with future changes to department ways of working and general business development.
